Each year at St. Peter's School we have a food drive for our local food bank during the month of October to show gratitude for the many blessings that God bestows upon us.
Because of the great need in our community, our staff liturgy committee decided to promote it a little differently in hopes of donating more food items this year. Our theme was "From Our Home to Yours!"
In order to help all of us visualize our goal, Ms. Leslie created a taped home on the wall of the hallway. With all of the donations we collected 540 food items to date, from 154 students and 19 staff members.
Way to go, St. Peter's! This was a wonderful opportunity to help the staff and students fulfill a Corporal Work of Mercy, Feeding the Hungry.
As Catholics around the world come to the conclusion of the "Year of Mercy" on November 20, as declared by Pope Francis, this was a great reminder for all of us to continue to focus on the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy as we journey through life.
