Prayers for Fort McMurray

The Alberta government has declared a provincial state of emergency. Approximately 90,000 have evacuated their homes.  As of May 4 at 3:30pm, the Alberta Government website stated, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with the Canadian Forces for air support to assist with transportation as needed.  

The federal government will match donations to the Canadian Red Cross to help those affected by the wildfire in Fort McMurray, Alberta.…

Waltera Van Gennip passes away

April 13, 2016 - Waltera Van Gennip, Pastoral Agent for Sturgeon Lake First Nation, died peacefully at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert. 

The funeral will take place at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Prince Albert, on Saturday, April 16 at 11:00am.

Pancake breakfast and supper for diocesan charities

Pancake breakfast and supper for diocesan charities

On February 9, Diocesan and St. Mary High School staffs flipped pancakes at St. Mary High School in Prince Albert to raise money for diocesan charities.  Staff from the high school and members of the community joined students for pancakes.  

Later that evening, Knights of Columbus made pancakes, crepes, sausage, many fun toppings at Sacred Heart Cathedral while Bishop Albert Thévenot, M. Afr. made waffles for the occasion.
