Pope Francis Year of MercyDear Pastors, Pastoral Assistants and Administrators,

I hope you had a good summer.  It is incredible that schools have started a new school year.  For us we are now in the office and are getting ready for our ministries.

As you know the Holy Father Pope Francis will announce the Year of Mercy on December 8, the Feast of Immaculate Conception.  The Pope will dedicate the year of 2016 and will conclude on Sunday, 20 November 2016, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe and living face of the Father's mercy.  During this Jubilee Year, the Pope invites us to rediscover the mercy and compassion of God to the humankind, especially to those who are in need of God's forgiveness and reconciliation with the Church.

To prepare ourselves to celebrate the Year of Mercy with the whole Church, I would like to introduce to you some helpful resources.  There are a variety of resources such as DVD, books, pamphlets including study guides that you can choose for the Sunday homily, group sharing or individual learning.  Please see these resources on the attachment or log in the following website for more selections:

In line of the diocesan theme "Our Church, A Family of Families", Bishop Albert Thévenot, M. Afr. invites each parish to integrate the Year of Mercy with our diocesan them.

Also, there are parishes who have requested some Bible Study resources for parish and study groups.  Please find the resources below:
